The honeycomb pattern has long inspired every industry, from fashion to architecture, jeweler and furniture design with its flawlessly symmetrical silhouette that’s geometric on its own or highly dynamic when combined into a repeating configuration. Highly effective in any constructive aspect or purely decorative, the honeycomb also has a spirited nature and an organic appeal that catches the eye.
In a recent Milan furniture fair, honeycomb pattern was on display in major showrooms like Cattelan Italia with the newly introduced Thiago platform bed with a honeycomb inspired wall hung headboard and the Honey buffet that incorporated honeycomb pattern into its facade which was seen at the Tonin Casa showroom. Honeycomb is also frequently used to create a unique visual composition by repeating independent hexagonal structures like the case with the Hexagon ottoman/end table by Steven Holl for Horm and the Skin mirror collection.
